Since starting Ian Legg Electrical Services in 1998, Ian’s team has steadily grown to enable the business to serve more customers in and around Essex. The team all keep on top of changes to technology, and electrical legislation to ensure the work they do is of the highest quality, and meets or exceeds the latest standards.
We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Ian and the team, and give you a bit of background on them.
Ian Legg
My journey in the electrical industry began 40 years ago when I embarked on an apprenticeship. While my career has been primarily rooted in traditional electrical services, I’ve recently diversified into cutting-edge green energy solutions, including solar PV installation, battery storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charger installation. This shift aligns perfectly with my belief that green energy is not just the future; it’s the way forward for a sustainable world. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills, working on diverse projects ranging from residential homes to large-scale commercial installations.
I became an NICEIC approved contractor and I’ve continually updated my knowledge to stay current with industry best practices and codes to ensure that every project I undertake is completed with the utmost safety in mind.
I look forward to the opportunity to bring my decades of experience and expertise to your electrical project. If you’re seeking a seasoned electrician who values safety, quality, and client satisfaction, I’m here to help.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family and I’m a passionate West Ham fan !
Luke
Hi there! I’m Luke, after leaving school Ian gave me the opportunity to have an electrical apprenticeship which has provided me with a strong foundation in electrical theory and hands-on experience, enabling me to confidently tackle a wide range of electrical challenges.
What I love most about being an electrician is the opportunity to be a problem solver. Whether it’s troubleshooting a mysterious electrical issue or ensuring that a home or business has a safe and reliable electrical supply, I thrive on finding solutions that work.
I understand that working with electricity requires extreme caution, and I make it my top priority to follow best practices and safety protocols in every job I undertake. Your safety and the safety of your property are non-negotiable for me.
I’m not only well-versed in traditional electrical installations but also up to date with the latest technological advancements in the industry. I’m excited about the possibilities that smart home technology and energy-efficient solutions bring to the table. I’m a tool and gadget man and love doing my own DIY, I’ve recently built my own patio and renovated most of my home.
Alex
I’m Alex, an electrician with Ian Legg Electrical Services, where I’ve been working alongside Ian and Luke for the last 4 years.
I’ve had the privilege of working on a wide range of electrical projects including lighting and power, testing and inspection, fuseboard upgrades, rewires, fault finding to name just a few. I particularly enjoy the testing side of things as well as the EV home charge installation work.
While I’m passionate about my work as an electrician, when I’m not wielding tools, you’ll often find me hitting the gym or engaging in various fitness activities or socialising with friends.
Michael
I have recently joined the team at Ian Legg Electrical Services , I’m really happy to be working with Ian, Luke and Alex working on all types of general electrical installations whilst also doing my apprenticeship at college.
Outside of work I’m a keen skateboarder, love getting involved in airsoft and enjoy cooking.
